The violin and her player have a prominent role in Masala's show, a mix of styles/cultures, artforms, emotions, ...
- Violintechniques originating from all over the world (and from outer space, 'cause Masalians are after all not from this world) are put together: Swinging bowtechniques, Chinese glissando's, Irish and Eastern-European ornaments, howling as in Rock, Classical vibrato, Bluegrass-grooves, Natural harmonics, ...
- Besides his violin, the player handles other instruments and sings together with other bandmembers of Masala. Repeatedly he changes into an actor or performs the 'art of silence'.
